What's the difference between scene hair and emo hair you may ask? While it's true that over the past 3 or 4 years with emo becoming as mainstream as it has with majority of it's exposure beginning on the internet that, now most people who aren't involved in this subculture don't see a difference between scene and emo hair and they tend to call scene hair 'emo hair'.
Here's a comparison between Scene hair and Emo hair :
The truth is there always were some differences between the two, and as emo grew the hairstyle evolved and became more extravagant. Originally female emo hair would look somewhat like 'normal' hair to most people who are used to the amazing colours and extensions used in scene hair today. As for emo and scene hair for guys it, it has also evolved a lot into what you see today. Originally even in the beginning of the third wave of emo the male hairstyle was nothing like you see on scene kids today. There was never hairspray or bangs (fringes) that reach ones shoulder.
