MAKE-UP
Make up on males is nothing new and has a long history, more recently it has been associated with the gothic culture and was another element which found it's way into the scene fashion. Generally the most common scene make up among scene and emo males are black nail polish or more commonly black eye liner, red and pink eye shadow is also occasionally used by some males. Originally female make up within the scene culture and emo culture generally consists of thick black eye liner as well as black, red and pink eye shadow. Bright coloured lipstick is not common and usually the lips are left as is or very dull lipsticks. Now days the make up of female scenesters have changed a bit and you will now find many scene girls using bright eye shadows such as yellow and pink and even luminous green together. There has been lots of controversy in recent years due to the male usage of make up within both the scene and emo culture. There have been numerous violent incidents where scene guys and emo guys have been attacked for their choice to wear make up. Most commonly by jocks and those who tend to feel that males need to appear masculine. And due to such many males within the scene have stopped wearing scene make up to distance themselves from such incidents.

How to Achieve This Scene Make-Up
Step 1 : First apply the pink eye-shadow to the eyes. Step 2 : Apply the black eye-liner to the eye. The reason for doing it in this way is too avoid smudging the black eyeliner onto your eye shadow brush.

This style of eye-liner has had it's place in the alternative scene for quite some time, it was also common during the 80s in the Deathrock and Punk scene. To achieve this look one just extends the outside of the eye-liner and narrows it at the end, as well as adding a small extension on the lower inside of the eye, near the nose.
CLOTHING
Scene clothing then started to become very random with girls deciding to dig up their old Hello Kitty shirts and guys climbing into their old clothing to find their pokemon or batman shirts. These shirts were naturally 5 sizes to small now which happened to work perfectly which the scene style look. Now days it still contains those two aspects for many scenesters. However today the scene style has evolved and now there are numerous styles of clothing which scenesters wear from the good old emo look right up to printed hoodies and wide brimmed caps which are more in-line with the hip hop culture. The entire genre has been thrown open to numerous different clothing style, and one can seem to wear whatever they want and still be called a scene-kid. There is only one vital part of clothing that is required for any guy who wants to be scene and that is TIGHT PANTS, also referred to as 'skinnies'.
